MEET ANDRé Saxman brown

André started off playing recorder when he was just 3 years old. Through hearing ‘Dinner Jazz with Helen Mayhew’ on Jazz FM in the 90’s and many of his Dad’s records he fell in love with the soulful, lyrical sound of the saxophone. At 10 years old, after years of begging his parents, he finally got his first saxophone and never looked back.

André SaxMan Brown’s sound is rooted in gospel, funk and soul. In the early 2000’s André started performing in London’s top Mayfair Clubs and so is highly experienced in working alongside a DJ. As a result, he knows how to keep you entertained, playing everything from Jazz & Soul to Hip-Hop and House. He is also a talented vocalist and enjoys singing Jazz & Motown Classics. ‘Give me anything with a great melody and an infectious groove and I’m happy! I’m not really restricted to any particular genre with the sax. I just love making music that moves people. Emotionally & physically.’

Over the years, André has performed on stage with many artists. Most noteworthy include Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Craig David, Basement Jaxx, The Gipsy Kings, Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monae, Kim Burrell, Beverley Knight and Neil Diamond.

André splits his time between family, travelling regularly for private events and playing with gospel jazz group The Roots of Jazz. He also occasionally guests with W3 (Funk Band) at Ronnie Scotts, London. André SaxMan is currently a member of The Music Connoisseurs who hold The MC Brunch on the first Sunday of each month at The Skinny Kitchen, London.

André SaxMan Brown has performed extensively across the world in The Maldives, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Singapore, Macau, China, Dubai, Greece, Italy, France, Germany, Cyprus, Egypt, Switzerland, Israel, Norway, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and across the UK.
